Hazardous Waste Source Reduction

The California Hazardous Waste Source Reduction and Management Review Act of 1989, commonly known as SB-14, promotes management of hazardous waste through source reduction rather than recycling or treatment. Hazardous waste generators are required to determine if they are subject to SB-14 requirements every four years. Generators captured under SB-14 are required to prepare a Source Reduction Evaluation Review and Plan (small businesses may substitute a Compliance Checklist), a Hazardous Waste Management Performance Report (small business may substitute their Biennial Generator Report), and a Summary Progress Report. G|E|M’s staff of environmental compliance professionals can determine whether your facility is subject to SB-14 requirements, develop a cost-effective plan for reducing hazardous waste at the source, and prepare the appropriate SB-14 documents.
